The One Reminder Every Busy Woman Needs Today

I had an 'I saw my ancestors' moment

Literally😂😂😂.

In the 3 minutes it lasted, I shut my eyes tight and kept saying to myself:
“If I fall now, my people will say, ‘na me carry my hand go buy market.’”

A few days ago, we visited a location famous for all the high rides you can imagine.

I’ve always laughed and enjoyed the sight whenever I watch people in movies screaming but looking so joyful on high rides.

So, I thought, let me try.

Big mistake. 😂

My intestines tumbled again and again, my heart flew out of my chest, and I was literally holding my rib cage.

Did I hear someone say, “Busy woman!”

Yes oo, I’ll answer with full chest. But let me report others too, I wasn’t the only one scared stiff. Some in my group came off with weak legs.

To my own annoyance, others (including some of my family) were having extreme fun screaming and laughing.

That day, I advised myself: my fear tolerance is low, let me not “buy market” again.

But it did remind me of what I asked you in my last letter:
Did you take time to rest?

To do something that brings out the child in you?
Something that makes you forget time — and even your phone?
Tell me, I’d love to read your stories.

This season, I also had the joy of soaking in God’s beauty while driving through different cities, enjoying the beautiful scenery that made me whisper to my crew, “Do you know God is the best Architect?”

Watching the carefree way different creatures thrive in their natural habitats made me ask myself again: “Why do I even worry?” And to remember that man is the most loved of all creation.

Selah!

Stay grateful! Feel Loved!!

And one of my sweetest hours this season was volunteering at a local community event to help parents and children pick out FREE school kits and coats for the new session. To see the joy on their faces, kids and parents alike reminded me again of the power of gifts. Joy for the receiver, satisfaction for the giver.

Have you considered volunteering?
It is a rewarding experience.

Now to something serious.

Sometimes people ask, “Why do you write so much about work?”

My answer: because work is life. It’s intertwined with everything.

Think about it. A promotion at work lifts your joy, your patience, your laughter. Your family feels it. The people close to you enjoy the overflow.

Flip the coin. A bad day at work drains you. Your patience runs thin, emotions crash, and you struggle not to transfer the frustration to the people closest to you. Yet, somehow, they still taste it.

So, no — you can’t box off work from the rest of life. Just like you can’t box off health, friendships, or faith.

Our lives are one connected piece.

That’s why the Author of life says in Deuteronomy 28:11:
“He will make you abundantly prosperous in all the work of your hands and in the fruit of your body ....” (Yes, your ideas, innovations, and intellect, all included.)

So, determine to be exceptional in your marketplace, whether in work or business.
Be the light.
Be compassionate.
Be the one whose innovation and love cannot be ignored but draws others to Christ.

With school resumption here and schedules filling up again, don’t forget it’s not the hustle that sustains you. It’s God.

As Psalm 73:26 reminds us: “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”

Also take care of your health, it is irreplaceable.

My current read this season is The Diary of a CEO by Steven Bartlett, the 33 laws of business & Life, I can tell you that there is plenty of good laws to learn there.

My word for you today comes from Steven himself:

Through the lens of ownership, the ordinary becomes the extraordinary.” Simply put – Own your Space!

Be intentional — rest, laugh, work with joy, and let your light shine where you are planted
